PeaceQuest refuses to accept war, violence, racism, sexism and any other form of oppression.PeaceQuest refuses to accept the fact that individuals’ rights to live in serenity and freedom are threatened and violated worldwide on a daily basis.PeaceQuest is composed out of youths in an idealistic peace organization that promotes freedom in any of its forms. It powerfully disapproves to the multiple daily infringements imposed on the world’s citizens and it carries out its objection with knowledge, humour and commitment.
Since 1983, PeaceQuest has achieved in altering thousands of people’s comprehension of their own ability and capacity of influencing society through exchanges, conferences, educational programs/seminars, field studies and active engagement.
Furthermore, the organization is dedicated to teaching and promoting peaceful conflict resolution as an option to revenge and aggression. This is considered a third alternative between passivity and brutality.
PeaceQuest encourages all youths to take advantage of their power and capabilities to influence, and moreover encourages the bureaucrats to give away some of their power.
Democracy, alongside with peaceful conflict resolution is our primary focus. We are driven by the faith that human beings posses the capability and desire/will to create a better world.
Everything we do is carried out in collaboration with and inspiration of organizations in Israel, Palestine, Bosnia, Macedonia, Serbia, Moldavia and Belarus. Nonetheless, it is evidently of equal significance to work with current conflicts and democracy deficiency within the Swedish society as well. Peace is more than just absence from war- it is justice and contribution for all.
